Welcome to my monthly print club!
Photography is one of my greatest passions that started as an obsession in childhood. I was around 8 or 9 years old when it all began. I had gotten a toy camera out of a cereal box that took 110 film. It had this tiny square viewfinder that would fold up and down. I just know I’m going to go down a rabbit hole searching for a photo of it. I can remember taking photos and then having to wind this gear to get the film to move and be ready for the next shot. There was no flash but it did have a key ring. I can remember the anticipation and pure excitement when my mother took me to the store to have the film developed. The waiting of days to get the call that the photos were ready to be picked up seemed more like months to my young self. That phone call finally came and we went to pick them up. Looking back those photos were so grainy and dark but it didn’t matter to me. I was hooked. From that point on I always had a camera and I was always taking photos. I even took Photography as my fine art in high school. There is nothing like developing your own film and bringing your shots to life in the darkroom. From a 110, then on to many 35mm cameras, and finally embracing digital and DSLR cameras, forty years later I’m still obsessed and my passion for it runs very deep.
Thank you for coming along on this journey with me. I’m so happy you are here!
